Q&A /The Telegram listings bot

The Telegram listings bot

The Telegram listings bot is your personal "apartment warehouse." You send your listings here (text + photos), and the Facebook and Marketplace bots pull them from here on their own once an hour and publish them. Below we'll cover how to add apartments, what the AI editor does, how to mark a listing as rented, and how to edit and manage the rotation.

What does this bot actually do, and why do I need it?
It's your personal listing warehouse in Telegram. You add your properties here (text + photos), and your Facebook (groups) and Marketplace bots automatically pull them from here once an hour and publish them. You're the only one managing the listings - there's no need to set them up anywhere else, everything lives inside this bot.
How do I add a property step by step?
Send the /add command, then send the listing text in a single message, then send the photos (you can send them as an album), and finish with the /save command. The bot will create an active listing and immediately send you a preview with control buttons and the message "Saved! /list {id}". And if you'd rather not do it step by step, there's a quick way - /fastadd: you can send the text and photos in one message, or simply forward a ready-made listing to the bot, and it'll save it for you (more on that in the next question).
How is /fastadd different from the regular /add?
/fastadd is the quick way. Send /fastadd and first choose whether to rewrite the text with AI - the "Rewrite with AI" or "No AI" button. After that you have two options: either send everything in ONE message - a photo album with the listing text in the caption of the first photo; or simply forward a ready-made listing (with text and photos) to the bot, and it'll recognize and save it. The /save command isn't needed in this case - the bot will assemble the album itself and create the listing. The /add command, on the other hand, works step by step: text separately, photos separately, then /save. The result is the same, so pick whichever is more convenient.
How many photos can I attach to a single listing?
A maximum of 10 photos per listing. If you send more, the bot will quietly take the first 10 and drop the rest. This applies to adding via /add, via /fastadd, and when topping up photos on an existing listing.
Can I send a video of the property, or a PDF/document?
No. The bot only understands photos. It simply ignores videos, documents, voice messages and video notes. If you want to show a video walkthrough, you'll have to make do with photos.
What does the AI editor do, and which model does it use?
The AI editor (OpenAI, the gpt-5-mini model by default) neatly reformats your text: it creates a heading with an emoji, clean bullet points, places the price with the ₪ symbol and the address with a 📍 marker below the price, and removes other people's phone numbers and links from the text. It does NOT translate the text into another language and does NOT change the content - it just makes it look nice.
Will the AI change my price or make up details that don't exist?
No - the model's instructions explicitly forbid changing any numbers (price, number of rooms, floor, dates, phone numbers) or adding facts that weren't in your text. That said, AI is still a machine and could in theory make a mistake, which is why the bot deliberately sends the finished listing back to you for review. Just give it a quick look after saving.
How do I turn the AI editor on or off?
The /ai on command turns it on, /ai off turns it off, and just /ai shows the current status. The "🧠 AI ON/OFF" button on the panel does the same. When AI is on, it automatically rewrites every new listing as you add it via /add and /fastadd. This is a global setting - it applies to all future listings.
Can I rewrite a listing I've already added using AI?
Yes. /rewrite ID (for example, /rewrite 5) will rewrite and immediately save that listing's text. And /rew text will simply show you a polished version of any text without saving anything - handy for "trying on" how it'll look before you change it.
I use AI, and my listing text is very long - is that okay?
The AI processes the first 1200 characters of the text - with very long listings, the tail end may not make it into the rewrite. In practice, that's more than enough for a typical property description. If the listing is huge, it's better to trim it down to the essentials before adding it.
What does "rented" and the /done command mean?
The /done ID command (for example, /done 3) or the "✅ Rented / delete" button under the listing marks the property as rented: it drops out of rotation and is no longer posted. The listing itself isn't physically deleted - it's still visible in /all as "🔴 OFF", and you can turn it back on.
How do I temporarily pull a property out of posting without deleting it entirely?
Under the listing, press the "🔴 OFF" toggle button. The property will stop going out for posting (the bots won't pick it up), but it'll stay in your list. When you need it again, press "🟢 ON" and it'll return to rotation. This is handy for properties that are temporarily on hold.
How do I change the text of a listing I've already added?
Send /edit ID (for example, /edit 4) - the bot will show the current listing with buttons - or press the "✏️ Text" button right under the listing, then send the new text. The old text will be completely replaced by what you send. Note: with this kind of manual editing, the AI does NOT rewrite the text - exactly what you send is saved.
How do I add more photos to a listing or delete an extra one?
Under the listing, press "📸 Photos", send the new shots (you can send an album) and finish with the /savedphotos command - they'll be added to the listing (the overall limit is still 10). To remove a specific shot, press "🗑 Photos": the bot will show the photos with "🗑 Photo 1…N" buttons, pick the one you don't want, and it'll be deleted.
How do I view all my listings, and a specific one?
The /all command (or the "📋 All listings" button) shows your listings, including the ones that are off, with a 🟢on/🔴off counter. /list shows the active ones. And /list ID (for example, /list 5) opens one specific listing by its number. Keep in mind: lists always show a maximum of 15 listings at a time.
What does /stats show?
The /stats command (or the "📊 Statistics" button) shows a quick summary of your listing warehouse: how many properties are active right now, how many were added today and in total, and how many were marked as rented today and in total.
Is the bot bilingual? Can I switch it from Hebrew to Russian?
The bot is bilingual - there's both Russian and Hebrew - but each individual bot runs in one language, which is chosen when you order the server. You switch with the /lang ru or /lang he command. Important: if your bot was set up as a Hebrew one, the interface will be forced to Hebrew and /lang won't switch it - the language is locked to your order. If you need to change the bot's language, write to support.
Where are my listings and photos stored? Are they safe?
All listings are kept in a file on your own personal server, which only you and the administrator can access. Photos are stored not as image files but as Telegram link IDs (file_id), so they take up very little space. Your data is not shared with third parties.
My friend/colleague is typing commands to the bot, but it doesn't respond - why?
All management commands (add, edit, delete, statistics, AI) are available only to the owner - the Telegram account the bot was set up for. For everyone else, the bot quietly ignores them; outsiders can only browse the listings and use the filters. This is done to keep your warehouse secure.
After saving, the bot sent the listing back to me - is that a glitch?
No, that's normal and intentional. The bot sends back the finished view of the listing ("Here's the saved listing for review") so you can make sure everything's correct - especially after the AI editor has done its work. Just check the text and photos; there's nothing extra to tap.
I sent one photo with a caption via /fastadd, but the bot said "No caption" - what's wrong?
In quick-add mode, the listing text has to be in the caption of the FIRST photo. If the caption is empty, the bot doesn't know what to put in the listing and asks you to repeat /fastadd. Just send the photo again, writing the property text in its caption.
The bot says "Too often" / "Wait a moment" - did I break something?
No, that's the usual protection against too-frequent requests. Some commands (such as viewing the list or filters) can only be triggered once every few seconds. Just wait a couple of seconds and try again - nothing's broken.
What are the /filter filters for, if the listings are mine anyway?
The filters (by price, number of rooms, neighborhood) are mainly meant for browsing - for example, when a guest is looking at the listings. You can write in plain text, something like "up to 3000, 3 rooms, Kiryat", and the bot will parse the criteria, after which /list will show only the matching properties. The /clearfilters command resets all the filters.
Do I need to put my phone number in the text of every listing?
No, you don't. Your contact details (phone, WhatsApp, link) are inserted automatically at publication - they're taken from the settings in your dashboard, not from the text. In fact, the AI editor actually removes phone numbers and links from the listing text itself, so there are no duplicates or other people's contacts.
What is /random, and why is this command "open" to everyone?
/random is the command your Facebook and Marketplace bots use to pull random active listings from the bot for publishing once an hour (for example, /random 4). It was deliberately made available so the bots can fetch content automatically. You don't need to run it manually, but if you do, the bot will return up to 15 random active properties.
Why don't all my properties make it into posting?
Only active listings (with the "🟢 ON" status) go out for publishing, and in a single run the bot takes a limited number (by default, as many as set in "posts per hour" in your dashboard, and no more than 15). Properties that are off ("🔴 OFF") and ones marked as rented don't make it into posting - that's normal behavior, not a malfunction.
I accidentally pressed "Rented" - is the property gone for good now?
It's easy to get it back. The "rented" mark doesn't physically delete the listing - it stays in the list. Open /all, find that property (it'll have the "🔴 OFF" mark) and press the "🟢 ON" button under it - the listing will become active again and return to rotation.
The /rew or /rewrite commands respond with "OpenAI not configured" - why?
The AI editor only works if an OpenAI key is set up on your server. If there isn't one, the AI simply stays out of the way: listings are saved with your original text without rewriting, and the rewrite commands report that AI isn't configured. If you'd like to connect the AI editor, write to support.
I have many apartments — how do I upload them all quickly?
No need to type each one by hand — there are two fast ways. First, forwarding: if your listings are already somewhere in Telegram — for example in your own group or channel, in Saved Messages, or in a chat — just forward them to the bot. A photo with a caption is saved as a ready listing automatically, and a multi-photo album is collected by the bot into a single listing. Second, /fastadd: you send one photo album with the text in the caption, and the listing is created in a single message. Up to 10 photos per apartment. This way a dozen apartments are added in a couple of minutes, not an hour.
