Logging in to Facebook and Telegram
For the bots to publish listings on your behalf, you need to log in once to your Facebook and Telegram accounts directly from the dashboard. Here we explain how to do that through the remote desktop window (VNC), what to do about two-factor authentication, why the Telegram code arrives in the app rather than by SMS, and how to log back in if your session drops.
How does logging into Facebook actually work? Do I have to type in a username and password somewhere?
You go to your dashboard, open your server's card, and click "Log in to Facebook." A window pops up saying "This is safe. Here's what will happen" — click "Got it, open browser." A connection bar goes from 0 to 100%, and right inside your dashboard a window loads with YOUR server's desktop (think TeamViewer or a remote desktop), where a Chrome browser is already open on facebook.com. You type your Facebook username and password yourself in that window, just as if you were sitting at a regular computer.
Is this actually safe? Will you get my Facebook password?
No, we never see or store your Facebook password. You type it in yourself in a browser running on your own server, and the password only goes there — never to us. All we keep on our side about Facebook is a single "logged in" flag; the password itself isn't there. Only you can see this window: both the VNC launch and the remote-screen channel verify that you're the server's owner and block access to anyone else.
What do you mean by "like TeamViewer"? Do I need to download or install anything?
Nothing to download. "Like TeamViewer" is just a comparison: you see another machine's desktop (your server's, to be exact) right in your browser, inside the dashboard. Technically it's a VNC window, and it opens on its own — no software to install. All you need is the browser you're already using for your BuzzPost dashboard.
What happens after I enter my password and click "Logged in"?
Your Facebook session is saved in the browser profile on the server, and from then on the bot logs into Facebook by itself, without the password. You won't need to re-enter it as long as the session stays alive. After that, the bot can pull in your groups and start posting your listings on schedule. One login, and your account is "remembered."
I have two-factor authentication (2FA) turned on for Facebook. Will that be a problem?
No, it's fully supported. After your username and password, Facebook will ask for a code — just enter it right there in the same desktop window, as usual: the code from SMS or from your authenticator app. So keep your phone or the app handy when you log in. One login is enough — the bot will remember your account.
Can I log in to Facebook from my phone instead of a computer?
Yes, you can. The desktop window works in a mobile browser too and supports touch: a tap is a click, a long press is a right-click, and two fingers scroll. You can bring up the on-screen keyboard with the "A" button on the toolbar at the top of the window. That said, for a smoother, more reliable experience we still recommend logging in from a computer — on a bigger screen it's noticeably easier and safer to type your username and password and get through the Facebook login.
I clicked "Log in to Facebook," the bar reached 100%, and then nothing — nothing opened. What do I do?
First do a hard refresh — Ctrl+Shift+R — and click "Log in to Facebook" again. There used to be a display glitch that kept the window from loading; refreshing the page clears it, and the desktop with Chrome on facebook.com appears. If after the refresh the window opens but it's a black screen inside, contact support (@BuzzPostil or WhatsApp +972 58-638-4995) — that's a different issue.
I got a message saying "Facebook session dropped, log in via VNC." What does that mean, and did I break something?
No, you didn't break anything. "Session dropped" means Facebook logged your account out on the server (this happens from time to time), and until you log back in the bot can't post — it automatically pauses and sends you this notification. The fix is simple: open the dashboard → "Log in to Facebook" → sign in to your account in the desktop window → "Logged in." After that the pause lifts and posting resumes on its own.
How exactly do I get the alert that I need to log back in to Facebook?
The alert comes through two channels at once on Telegram — from your server's monitor bot and from the shared @BuzzPostLinkBot — with text like "Bot paused. Open the panel and click Log in to Facebook." You'll also see it in the dashboard itself as a banner on the server. There's nothing to set up in advance; the alert arrives automatically.
Why didn't the Telegram login code come to me by SMS? I've been waiting several minutes.
That's how it's supposed to work: the code doesn't come by SMS — it comes to the Telegram app itself. Open Telegram on the phone with that number and find the official "Telegram" chat (sender @777000) — the code is there. Copy it and enter it in the dashboard. In the current version, Telegram has disabled forced SMS delivery, so the "Get SMS" button almost never works — the main, reliable method is the code in the app.
What format should I enter the phone number in when logging in to Telegram?
In full international format, for example +972501234567 (with the plus and country code). Then click "Send code" and grab the code from the Telegram app. After a successful login you'll see a green check, "Logged in successfully," and the bot will be able to pull listings.
I logged in to Telegram, it said "successful," but the bots still aren't getting any listings. Why?
Sometimes the login doesn't stick — for example, if the same Telegram account is also actively used on a phone (Telegram may then revoke the server session), or there was a save error. Just log in again: number → code from the Telegram app → cloud password if needed, and wait for the green check, "Logged in successfully." If after a few tries the listings still don't come through and the bot keeps sending "Telegram re-login needed," contact support — the session may need to be recreated on the server.
How is logging in to Telegram on the server different from the Telegram link I did when I placed my order?
These are two separate things. Linking Telegram at order time (via @BuzzPostLinkBot, the "Link Telegram via bot" button and Start) connects your Telegram to the DASHBOARD: that's where notifications and the password-reset link arrive. Logging in to your Telegram account on the server (with a number and a code) is a separate step that gives the bots access to your listings source. Don't mix them up — one doesn't replace the other.
Do I need to log in to Telegram separately for the groups bot and separately for Marketplace?
No, it's a single login for both. The groups bot (Facebook) and the Marketplace bot use the same Telegram session and the same browser profile. So one Telegram login fixes both bots at once, and one Facebook login does too. There's deliberately no separate "log in for Marketplace" button in the dashboard, to avoid duplication.
Do you not see my Telegram login either? Where is my Telegram session stored?
You enter the Telegram code and cloud password yourself; we never ask for them. The Telegram session itself is stored on the server in encrypted form (Fernet encryption), and each user has their own separate "salt" — so that even if the master key leaked, all sessions couldn't be exposed at once. Your server password and your dashboard's two-factor secret are encrypted the same way.
Why does it have to be my own Facebook for the login? Couldn't you give me yours or a shared one?
No — the bot posts specifically from your Facebook account, into your groups and Marketplace, so you're the one who logs in. Ideally the account should be old and active: that lowers the risk of restrictions. Your username and password stay only on your server; we never receive them.
Can anyone else connect to my server's window or peek at my login?
No. Only you (the owner) and the service administrator have access to your server's screen and data. Both the button that launches the remote window and the screen-streaming channel itself verify that you're the owner and reject any other dashboard user. While you're typing your password, no one but you can see that screen.
Do I also have to enter the username and password for the server itself (Windows) somewhere when logging in to FB?
No. You don't connect to the server itself (the Windows/Administrator account) by hand, and you never enter its password — it's stored encrypted on the service's side and isn't shown in the dashboard. You work only through the ready-made remote desktop window and through the dashboard. The only things you ever type yourself are your Facebook and Telegram credentials.
After I log in to Facebook via VNC, will the bot pull in my groups right away?
Yes — once the login succeeds, the bot can scan your groups. Important: if you run a group scan while the bot is NOT logged in to Facebook, it'll find 0 groups, because Facebook shows a login form instead of the list. So the order is: first log in to Facebook through the desktop window, make sure the login stuck, and only then start the group import.
